Accommodation
The 'Sussex by the Sea' VISIT Accommodation search shows inspected
and graded accommodation in the area. On each entry, there are
symbols to show facilities available, including those to help
the less mobile visitor. Some accommodation establishments have
ground floor bedrooms, whilst others have more facilities such
as a stair lift, hoist or ramp. A call to the establishment
will help you find out if your special needs will be catered
for.
Attractions
The 'Sussex by the Sea' VISIT Attraction search shows places
to visit in the area. On each entry, there are symbols to
show the facilities provided, including those to help the
less mobile visitor. Most attractions will have special facilities
such as parking, toilets etc. A call to the establishment
will help you find out if your special needs will be catered
for.
Parking
There are special bays for disabled visitors and residents
in the Arun District Council town car parks and parking is
free for cars displaying the orange or blue badge and clock
(with a maximum stay of 3 hrs). If the disabled bays are full,
cars may be parked free of charge in a standard bay (the same
rules apply).
Similar rules apply for “On Street “ parking,
although, unfortunately there are currently no signs indicating
this.
Other Information
A leaflet entitled ‘Information for Disabled Residents
and Visitors to the Arun District’ is available
from our Visitor Information
Centres (in standard or large print formats). It covers
a wide range of subjects, including car parking for badge
holders, accessible transport including taxis, wheelchair
hire and toilets with facilities for disabled people.

Shopmobility
To hire wheelchairs and powered scooters, telephone (Bognor
Regis) 01243 830077 or (Littlehampton)
01903 733004.
The historic town of Arundel is built on and around a very
steep hill, which unfortunately means the town and the Castle
have limited accessibility for wheelchair users. Possibly
for this reason, there are currently no Shopmobility facilities
in Arundel. However, the River Arun which meanders along the
southern boundaries of the town centre, provides pleasant
level access to wonderful views of the castle, town and river.
For specific access information to Arundel Castle and The
Wildfowl & Wetlands Centre, please see their entry on
the Attractions Search facility.
For more information on accessibility in the Arun District,
telephone Littlehampton’s Working Access Group on 01903
856368.
